Port of Tacoma Pier 4 Reconfiguration Project

Floyd|Snider is assisting the Port of Tacoma with permitting, Dredged Material Management Program (DMMP) cutback characterization, and USEPA cleanup coordination for the Pier 4 Reconfiguration Project, which includes a cleanup under USEPA oversight of approximately 45,000 cubic yards of tributyltin (TBT)-contaminated sediments located under Pier 4 under USEPA oversight. As part of the Port of Tacoma's redevelopment of the General Central Peninsula terminal complex, Pier 4 will be reconfigured to be in alignment with the upgraded Pier 3. The project includes cutback of the existing bank to accommodate the pier reconfiguration. Floyd|Snider works closely with the Port of Tacoma, team member Confluence Environmental, the engineering design team of KPFF and Hart Crowser, and the regulatory permitting agencies, including the DMMP and USEPA, to secure permits for the project and a suitability determination for the dredged material, and implementation of a contaminated sediment removal action under USEPA.
