Christy Heaton, MGIS

GIS/Data Analyst

Christy Heaton joined Floyd|Snider in 2018 as a GIS/Data Analyst, bringing with her 10 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the public and private sectors and education. Her experience includes providing GIS analysis and project management support through developing project life cycles, finding creative ways to automate geoprocessing tasks, and providing GIS coursework and training in both a university setting and by giving free, public workshops. Her previous research includes using strategic modeling techniques to connect natural open spaces for recreation across the central Puget Sound region of Washington State.

Christy holds a master's in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Washington and an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of South Dakota. Her professional interests include programming, open-source software, and GIS community organizing.
