Michelle "Chell" Black

Data Manager

As Floyd|Snider’s database manager, Chell Black manages all the scientific data for the firm, transforming data sets received from laboratories into database-compatible components that can then be loaded into the firm’s proprietary database structure. From this database, she extracts the data into reports for use by project teams, ensuring data quality in the process. When necessary, Chell tunes the firm’s database systems for performance, capacity, and integrity.

Prior to Floyd|Snider, Chell spent 10 years as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher, experience which has served to hone her abilities to prioritize, multi-task, communicate efficiently, and meet deadlines. Her prior experience also includes maintaining a geographical database for a municipal Communications Center and training others in the use of Computer Aided Dispatch software. Chell holds an undergraduate degree in Physics/Computer Science, with a minor in Chemistry.
