Floyd|Snider Associate Principle Jessi Massingale, PE, presented at the COPRI PORTS 2016 Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her presentation; A Collaborative EPA Time-Critical Sediment Removal Action, discussed the successful removal of TBT-contaminated sediments conducted as the Phase 1 Removal Action at the Port of Tacoma’s Pier 4 on the Blair Waterway in 2016. The Port’s Phase 2 Reconfiguration Project is currently in construction. Her presentation reviewed unique project conditions and components, the importance of engineering, environmental, and agency collaboration, the results of a dredge BMP technical analysis, strategic project elements that were key to successful implementation, and lessons learned.
