Alaskan Way Viaduct/Seawall Replacement Project

The City of Seattle, through the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), is moving forward with replacement of the Elliott Bay seawall structure. Floyd|Snider, as a teaming partner with TETRA TECH, will be providing consulting services regarding management of contaminated sediment, soil, groundwater and stormwater that will be encountered during construction of the new seawall structure. The seawall runs along Elliott Bay in downtown Seattle from South Washington Street to Broad Street. The seawall replacement project involves designing a new earthquake resistant system that will support the street and right-of-way, protect the shoreline and waterfront from coastal erosion, provide access to the waterfront piers, provide opportunities for the public to access the water, improve marine habitat and support upland uses, public spaces, utilities and buildings.
