The Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA) has recognized the Port of Seattle for their continued leadership in environmental stewardship of the Puget Sound. In 2019 and 2020, Floyd|Snider staff Kate Snider and Stephanie Hegstad worked with the Port, agency and industrial partners to facilitate the formation of the Quiet Sound Program. Our team provided project management, facilitation, and technical support for the development of a recommended group structure and a process for implementing a program to reduce underwater noise from large commercial vessels and associated impacts to the Southern Resident Orcas.
