Floyd|Snider Successfully Completes In-situ Soil Remediation at Reichhold/SSA Containers Facility

As a keystone property in the Puyallup Tribal Terminal development in Tacoma, WA, Floyd|Snider recently completed the in-situ soil component of the final cleanup action plan on-schedule and under budget. After developing a Focused Feasibility Study and a Cleanup Action Plan in coordination with Ecology, Floyd|Snider developed plans and specifications, prepared a SEPA checklist, selected a contractor, and provided construction management services for a large-scale excavation and disposal of contaminated soil, including F021-listed CAMU-eligible soil and TSCA soil. The project also included dewatering and treatment of impacted groundwater, control and minimization of noxious odors through the application of odor-suppressing foam, and confirmation sampling. The site is a former chemical manufacturing facility and was significantly contaminated with pentachlorophenol, daughter products, and underlying hazardous substances including dioxin and furans.
