Floyd|Snider Welcomes Ken Preston as New Constructability Specialist

On January 2, 2013, Floyd|Snider welcomed Ken Preston to our team. Ken brings to the firm over 30 years of experience in construction estimating, negotiations, and construction supervision for innumerable waterfront development and remediation projects, including sediment remediation, offshore outfalls and intakes, harbor facilities, dredging work, marinas, breakwaters, and shoreline protection projects. Ken will bring strength in constructability, smart construction solutions, and practical construction cost estimating to Floyd|Snider.

Ken holds a BA in Geology, and has worked with General Construction, now Kiewit, since 1976. Upon leaving the company in 2012, he had served as a senior estimator, branch manager, project manager, project superintendent, and field engineer. Ken has strong relationships and an exceptional reputation with engineers, owners and contractors throughout the Pacific Northwest; based on practical and innovative construction solutions implemented with collaborative spirit and good humor.

From Floyd|Snider, Ken will provide constructability consulting services to waterfront landowners, architect/engineering firms, and environmental consulting firms. He will offer these services as an independent line of business, in addition to consulting on Floyd|Snider cleanup and redevelopment projects. His services will include constructability and project strategy review and input, design level cost estimating, construction document review, and participation in regulatory negotiations relative to constructability and project strategy.
