F|S Presents an Overview of the Challenges and Regulations for Dioxins at a NEBC Luncheon

At the September 1st Northwest Environmental Business Council NEBC crowd (NEBC) luncheon titled Dioxins – Technical Challenges and Project Impacts, Floyd|Snider and the Port of Olympia presented two presentations. Jessi Massingale, a Floyd|Snider professional engineer and oceanographer presented an overview of dioxin challenges and current regulations, and Joanne Snarski of the Port of Olympia presented a look at the impact of dioxins to Port projects. Jessi’s presentation looked at the source and risk associated with dioxins, dioxin analytical challenges, uplands and in-water background levels in Washington and Puget Sound, current state uplands and sediment regulatory guidance, and a look at overarching challenges.
