F|S Staff Returns to Marra Farms!

Floyd|Snider staff volunteering at Solid Ground's Marra Farms in South Park

On a damp Friday in late March, several Floyd|Snider staff gave 5 hours of their time at the Marra Farms Giving Garden. They diligently worked on preparing vegetable beds and planting seeds for the spring season and improving the greenhouse with a new roll-up side panel for better air circulation.

Marra Farms is located in the Duwamish River Valley and comprises 8.7 acres of preserved farmland in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood – home to both ethnically diverse immigrant communities and a high concentration of commercial industry. Solid Ground’s Community Food Education (CFE) program, one of many community partners who steward the land, operates the Giving Garden, which provides youth education while growing food for the community.

At Floyd|Snider, we empower our staff to give back to their community with 40 hours of paid volunteer time each year, allowing staff to dedicate their skills to nonprofit organizations of their choice. We take immense pride in giving back and making an impact on the community through volunteering.
