F|S to Present at Battelle Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments

Floyd|Snider will be represented in three presentations given during the Noncontaminant Stressors Session at the Ninth International Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments January 9 through 12, 2017. Held in New Orleans, the conference is organized and presented by Battelle and sponsors; Floyd|Snider is presenting projects that demonstrate involvement in public- and private-sector work in environmental assessment, remediation, and management. Two of Floyd|Snider’s recent successful projects will be showcased at the conference. Jessi Massingale will present her work at the Port of Tacoma’s Pier 4 on “A Collaborative EPA Time-Critical Tributyltin-Contaminated Sediment Removal Action,” which she co-authored with teaming partner Scott Kuebler (KPFF) and Scott Hooton, Trevor Thornsley, and Stanley Ryter at the Port of Tacoma. Megan King, PE, will be presenting two posters on Floyd|Snider’s waste removal work at UniSea, Inc. in Unalaska, Alaska. These presentations will address permitting and construction at the site, and are entitled “Strategic State and Federal Permitting for USEPA-Directed Dredging and Discharge of Seafood Waste in Alaska State Waters” and “Implementation of a Seafood Waste Dredging Action in Alaska State Waters,” respectively. The presentations were co-authored with Ms. Massingale and Tessa Gardner-Brown of Floyd|Snider, UniSea, Inc. staff, and teaming partner John Nakayama of NewFields.
