Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the Kiewit-General Joint Venture team, with Floyd|Snider, has been working together to complete design and receive all final environmental permits for the construction of the Grays Harbor pontoon casting basin facility at the Aberdeen Log Yard Site in Aberdeen. Construction is scheduled to start on February 16, 2011, following Governor Christine Gregoire’s groundbreaking ceremony on the 12th. The project includes the construction of the casting basin facility, and the construction of 33 new floating bridge pontoons for the SR520 floating bridge.
